The Mauritius Co-operative Agricultural Federation (MCAF) serves as the voice of the agricultural community, specifically the cooperative groups involved in sugar production. As such, it holds representation on various boards and committees within institutions closely linked to the sugar industry. Through these positions, MCAF representatives actively participate in decision-making processes, ensuring the protection and promotion of the interests of small-scale planters.Some of the key institutions where MCAF holds representation include:

Subcommittees within the MCAF play vital roles in overseeing specific areas of operation and decision-making. These subcommittees include:

Each of these subcommittees focuses on addressing and managing various aspects essential to the MCAF's functioning, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and progress in their respective domains.
Membership within the MCAF comprises Co-operative Credit Societies. For Crop 2024, a total of 8,140 small sugarcane planters have consigned cane, with 4,744 planters being enrolled in Co-operative Credit Societies (CCS). These CCS planters harvested cane across an area of 4,663 hectares, resulting in a sugar production of 20,567 tonnes.
Island-wide, for Crop 2024, a total of 2,195,802 tonnes of cane were harvested over a total area of 34,759 hectares, producing 225,547 tonnes of sugar tel quel.
On a national basis for Crop 2024:
> The total number of small sugarcane planters consigning cane stood at 8,140.
> Among them, 4,744 planters were affiliated with Co-operative Credit Societies.
> Planters operating through CCS represented approximately 58% of the total number of small sugarcane planters.
> The overall harvested area for the country amounted to 34,759 hectares.
> CCS planters harvested cane across 4,663 hectares.
> Sugar production from CCS planters accounted for 20,567 tonnes.
> The total sugar produced island-wide amounted to 225,547 tonnes
