MCAF Achievements

Over the last three years, MCAF has strengthened its position as an island-wide cooperative federation through:
• Sustained operational performance,
• Moderate surplus and sound liquidity,
• Strong internal control, and full compliance with statutory requirements.

The Federation has expanded the following:
• Modernised digital and IT-supported processes,
• Strengthened security and operational resilience,
• Supported planters by providing agro-inputs and mechanisation-related services, and
• maintained staff welfare and community-oriented practices.

One of the key achievement is that MCAF Ltd has constructed its new Head Office at Kit Lock Avenue Bell Village and inaugurated same in September 2024.

These achievements demonstrate stability, relevance, service commitment, and a clear forward-looking approach to cooperative excellence.

LAND & BUILDINGS

In 1982 the MCAF erected a building of 7000 ft2 at Caudan in a portion of 65 perches of lease land.
In 2006 the MCAF has constructed a new building of 3600ft2 known as the “MCAF & IFFCO complex” at l`Escalier in a portion of land which it has purchased in 1998.
The MCAF and the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Co-operative (IFFCO) has developed a good relationship since 1995 and both organisations often organise study tours to exchange views and ideas. A memorandum of understanding was signed by the two organisations and IFFCO has helped financially for the construction of the new building.
In 2015 – Construction of a New two storey Building at La Marie with a total area of 4,300 ft2.

75th Anniversary Celebration of MCAF Ltd

The Federation (MCAF) is an esteemed organisation that has been a cornerstone of the sugarcane industry in Mauritius since its establishment on 16 August 1950. As the primary representative body for Small Sugarcane Planters, MCAF Ltd has proudly served the agricultural community for over 75 years. To celebrate the significant milestone, 75th Anniversary, the Federation has commemorated this historic event on Saturday 23 August 2025 at Mahatma Gandhi Institute Auditorium (MGI) Moka. The Hon Sayed Muhammad Aadil AMEER MEEA, Minister of Industry, SME and Cooperative has grace this event as chief guest and he also addressed an audience comprising planters from various Co-operative Credit Societies and other distinguished guests.
