The MCAF acts as the mouthpiece of the planting community grouped in co-operatives and therefore is represented on the boards and committees of several institutions which are closely associated with the sugar industry. The representatives have a say in the decision making process and as such safeguard and protect the interests of small planters. Some of the institutions where the MCAF has its representatives are:

MEMBERSHIP

Its membership consists of 155 Co-operative Credit Societies. 11,808 planters have consigned cane for Crop 2019 in which 6,278 planters are enrolled in Co-operative Credit Societies. The total area harvested for Crop 2019 by CCS’s planters is 6,513 ha producing 33,506 tons of sugar.
